Leader+ is aimed at innovative imaginative projects, which might not meet the requirements of the mainstream programmes.
It is accepted that there may be an element of risk when innovation is involved. The project should, however, be sustainable in the long term and capable of being rolled out on a wider scale if it proves to be successful.
As a pilot, projects should aim to be "demonstration" , capable of being rolled out on a wider scale with other, mainstream funding once proven. Could also be a high risk or very creative way of answering a need.
| Sustainable |
| |
The project should be economically, socially and environmentally sustainable, with a reasoned exit strategy, if it is a finite activity it should produce an outcome which enhances sustainability. |
| Match funded |
| |
Projects should include some element of private funding, some cash input and should not be matched entirely by contributions in kind. |
| Financially sound |
| |
Payment is retrospective - so cash flow must be considered when expenditure and funding profiles are estimated. |
| Well managed |
| |
Projects will need to demonstrate good management skills and/or successful experience of project management and finance. |
NB: Mid Kent Leader + will not fund projects wanting funding as a replacement for statutory bodies’ spending and should not replace other EU or UK grants which may be more appropriate.
